Grandma's All Occasion Sugar Cookies

This weeks recipe was chosen by Ulrike of Kuchenlatein.  This was my first time to make sugar cookies from scratch.  Even though this is the only picture I have, almost all of the cookies were iced stars.  I took the cookies to an ornament swap.  Anna Pike, I am SO sorry you missed it since you are one of my most loyal readers :-)  We missed you!!

I was scared about the dough because it was so crumbly I could barely form two disks, but these cookies are AMAZING!!!!!  And the dough is a 5 on my friend Cathy's lick-o-meter.  I like desserts as sweet as possible and these are pretty much all sugar.  The icing was great, too!!

You have never made home made sugar cookies before?

Wow!

I am so glad you did.

I am so glad that you liked these! I bet that these were a huge hit at your cookie exchange. I gave them a 4, but I doubt that any non-chocolate dough would earn a 5 from me. I'm visualizing the iced stars -- oh, they are gorgeous!

Look forward to seeing your cookies. Don't forget to post your pic. No sugar cookies before. Awesome!! But then I have never done a cookie exchange.

I wanted to be there so badly :( I hate that I had to work that night. The whole time I was there I was thinking about you all!

Is that a 5 out of 5 or a 5 out of 10 on the lick-o-meter?
