Arborio Rice Pudding

This week Isabelle of Les Gourmandises d' Isa chose Arborio Rice Pudding.  I am running so far behind this week, so I made the pudding Monday night and don't get to eat it until tonight, so I don't know whether I like it, but it was very very easy to make- after I finally found Arborio rice at the FOURTH grocery store.  As you see, I made half vanilla and half chocolate.  I used MILK chocolate.  I know this would probably be a sin to Dorie, but I don't like semi-sweet and I want to try this.  It may be way to sweet, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

I really hope I do like this pudding since it only has four ingredients and I now own enough Arborio rice to make this recipe 16 more times (per the label).

I can't believe it took you four grocery stores to find arborio rice. What kind of backwards town do we live in, anyway? I'll be hooking you up with so many risotto recipes now that you'll start hiding when you see me coming! I think that you are really going to like this. Have some for breakfast in the morning and let us know!

I'm with you, not Dorie, and much prefer milk chocolate- your pudding looks great! I can't believe how long it took you to find the rice! Maybe you can get some delicious risotto out of it now! :)

I hope it turns out alright! And contrary to popular belief, you can't go wrong with milk chocolate!

I used bittersweet for the chocolate, and I think it needed to be something creamier. I'll bet the milk choc will be perfect! Great job in a clutch situation.

I'm impressed that you went to so many stores, but even if you don't like this, you can make dinner after dinner of risotto - so easy and so tasty!

it looks great! the pudding itself wasn't super sweet, so i think the milk choc would be a great addition.

I live in a hick town myself. Fortunately I can find aborio rice in our local co-op!

I don't usually like anything other than milk chocolate for eating but I have found it doesn't have the oomph in recipes so I have been using bittersweet and loving it. If you have a Trader Joe's they carry arborio for a decent price if you choose to get more. Love the ramekins.
