Rugelach

This weeks recipe was Rugelach, which I had to Wikipedia since I didn't know what Rugelach is :-) Now, I realize that one my favorite bakeries, Edgars, has these all the time for sale.

I almost didn't make this recipe, but my friends Cathy and Julie talked me into it and I am so glad!! I used strawberry jam, chocolate and pecans- no currants. I liked this recipe, but I made it very last minute and didn't feel like I got to fully enjoy the process. Well, that plus the fact that this election is very stressful :-) I don't think I rolled them tightly enough. My husband loved them!

Thanks, Piggy of Piggy's Cooking Journal for the great pick!!

Your look wonderful, even if they were rushed. Just one more reason to make them again, right? :)

Even though you did the rugelach in a rush, but yours still look great though. :-)

Thanks for baking with me this week!

Oh, now what is a better stress buster than rolling up some little pastries?? I'm so glad you made these, Amanda, and that you enjoyed them! And thank you for saving one for me -- it was my breakfast this morning! I love that you Wikipediad this (and I didn't know that "Wikipedia" was now a verb -- see, I need friends like you to keep me young).

Good job!! I'm a fellow TWD baker, and I was thinking that it would be nice if we all could chip in and get Laurie some small token/gift for all the work she does. Would you be willing to contribute? If I can get enough people, it would only be about $1 per person. No pressure :-) Let me know! bethberg12@yahoo.com

They are good, aren't they?

Because, see, back in the olden days, we would "look up rugelach in the dictionary."
